It has been many years since we have routinely played Warcraft, but the recent launch of Warcraft Classic managed to call us back. The “new” version is from the 2004 era – no heirloom gear for fast leveling, minimal quality of life improvements, and relatively high death rate. But it is fun, at least for now. Even better, the kids are now at the age to be able to play and hopefully appreciate it – we stopped playing after they got old enough that free time was too limited. Now we can play as a family, with a pre-made group…

Working on the editing of the next episode of Age of Ashes, and realizing that some of my adjusted camera angles are a bit too adusted. I was trying to focus more on the group, and try to avoid the backs of the other half of the players. Unfortunately, it ended up with an overly high angle, and didnt really avoid the block. Plus, to adjust for the many players, I ended up with a bit too much background. Not sure what the solution is, I will be trying a different option next time. Basically, we are trying to squeeze…

As we continue our Pathfinder Age of Ashes campaign, the group is slowly collecting and painting their miniatures for their characters. One part that is particularly interesting to me is that everyone is very much vested in not only have a representative figure, but in hand painting it themselves. To that end, we have custom ordered figures, and others that are unable to be used until the painting is fully finished. The most recent is Goruza, the group’s Cleric of Sarenrae, and a Half-Orc. As usual, the figure is hand painted by the player, which turned out very nice –…

At this point, the second session should be posted. The content is a bit longer, since we actually played a full session, and generally managed to keep moving. The group finished up the encounter in the Town Hall with the fire elementals, are hired by the council to investigate the trouble at Citadel Altaerein, and make their first entries into the old fortress. There they meet unexpected resistance, which pulls the group together as an actual party. https://youtu.be/IA4WIlQEgYg Remember to subscribe if you want to be notified of future video releases, and like the video if you enjoyed it.

Republishing my Patreon page got me motivated to do a bit of site cleanup. As a result, I cleaned out some old links that were simply not being used – no more Instagram or Twitch. If I ended up deciding to use those in the future, I can always re-add. What little content I have on Instagram I will probably just leave, and Twitch auto-cleans itself out anyway. Neither tool really fits with my preferences – I dont take a lot of photos, and I almost never have a desire or capability to stream live. I doubt they will be…

Years ago, I attempted to get a Patreon page started and running, to help fund these activities. Of course, with my small audience, it never really gained any momentum. Honestly, I never really produced enough content to justify any interest anyway – so it wasn’t much of a surprise. At this stage, I believe the content quality has improved a lot, and I am currently motivated to produce regular material again – so I am giving it another try with more moderate goals. Primarily, I am looking to fund additional camera and audio gear to improve the production quality a…

Finished up the second session video over the long US weekend, and working on uploading it to YouTube. Should be published on schedule on Friday. If you haven’t subscribed yet, now is a good time and you will receive a notification when the video goes live. YouTube Formatting is quite a bit changed – most of the scenes are composites of several of the cameras, I finally have decent background music, and I opted to add additional text notes this time. Not sure if they will be more engaging or more distracting, but it helped me make some clarification comments,…

Taking the role of Neutral authority in the group is the Champion Gwendolyn Viktor. A human character, she has adopted the stance of Redeemer of Sarenrae, seeking to bring the troubled and evil back to the light. As a Dragon Scholar, Gwendolyn brings a sense of education and curiosity to the group, eager to encounter any signs or stories of dragons in the region. Of course, with the Age of Ashes campaign, there are sure to be plenty of dragons in the future. Thus far, most of the focus of the Champion has been on keeping the new group alive.…
