So, apparently this whole video production thing is difficult – to the level that it is hard to remember all the bits and pieces in a rapidly moving and evolving configuration. Case in point – in order to have decent audio, it is important to actually start the recorder… As noted before, I spent the time and effort to upgrade the audio environment for our game, and conducted several tests over the last week. Everything was spot on, and I am beyond pleased with the Zoom H6 recorder. During our game, I had some unexpected challenges (the lavalier mic would…

Publishing the 5th episode of Chapter 1 of our Age of Ashes campaign. This one is a bit short this week, thanks to an untimely work related call that disrupted the game mid stream. The group returns to Citadel Altaerein, and begins the exploration of the lower vaults, to attempt the removal of the Cinderclaw Cultists. https://youtu.be/kgrKLDGA4iw

Finalized the schedule for our upcoming 3rd annual Magic the Gathering tournament, now planned for November 30, from 2 PM to 6 PM. Had a bit of a conflict with a pre-planned Scouting event, so had to switch from our normal Wednesday, but this may work out better. At least this way, travelers may be back from their trips in time to join us.

So after more testing, seems the plugin for WordPress to auto-publish to Instagram isn’t functional, at least for me. Perhaps Instagram doesn’t like the connection, or I have some site conflict with the plugin, but after several attempts, I was unable to configure it to work. As such, the two streams will continue to co-exist, but as independent entities. Admittedly, I am still challenged to find a role for Instagram, which doesn’t duplicate the role of WordPress, but I am willing to give it a try. Perhaps with some regular use, I can understand the tool a bit better. Or…

Continuing my video evolution, working on some new audio options for this coming Sunday’s regular game. Should be much improved audio, though I expect there will be some additional tweaking necessary to fine tune things. However, given my current travel plans, I am hoping to do some informal testing this week in preparation. At the same time, I am hoping (fingers crossed) that my day job will not interrupt our session this time, and we can get a full game in. Not only was it disappointing this last time, but it was also disruptive for my normal schedule – I…

As highlighted in our recent gaming videos, we use a collection of 3d printed True Tiles, based on models available from Hero’s Hoard. The basic model has been altered with some external designs, to include magnets in the base frame, while the surface is the same. The problem in the past has been that the number of tiles I had made it challenging to finish painting. No longer – after another batch painting session, I now have my full collection (minus one tile that slipped thru) painted and game ready. I also printed and painted a number of scatter terrain…

Been running into a number of problems with the 3d printer recently, while I have been trying to create new terrain pieces for our gaming. The most notable concern has been a layer shift – at mostly random heights, the print seems to shift in the Y-axis, sometime plus, and sometime negative. It isn’t consistent enough to cause a stair step effect, and it sometimes switches directions, depending on the print. But a number of the prints have ended up unusable as result. Initially, I thought it was perhaps a loose belt (which did not seem to be the case),…
