• With our Zombicide game, I have jumped back into video documentation, with a bit of experimenting in preparation for our future Pathfinder game. Utilizing my bare bones gear (a camcorder, cell phone, and audio recorder), I managed to actually record some decent footage and a couple of angles. Audio ended up better than I expected, and I can actually hear all the players. Of course the additional camera adds complexity with the editing, so I had to dive into learning about Premiere Pro’s multi-cam editing options. It was not that intuitive (or I am a slow learner), but I think…

  • Managed to fit in another game of Zombicide: Black Plague, as we ever so slowly work our way thru the starter set missions. This time it was Quest 8 – The Evil Temple, and our first “Hard” mission. The first attempt went badly, the group split up and then encountered nothing but misses on their attacks. By round three, the zombies had overwhelmed half the group and were closing in on the rest. The second attempt was far better – dice behaved for the most part, the group stuck together, and the card draws were decent. Most notably, they managed…

  • Its been a while now since I have published any podcast or video productions at all, let alone related to our gaming activities, and the itch is starting to return. Our current Kingmaker campaign would be an option, but realistically it is just too short of a series to make it worth while. Instead, my thought is to resume with what we are planning for as Season 3 – the start of the 2nd edition of Pathfinder and the recently announced Age of Ashes campaign. This would have several advantages – most notably a bit of timeliness in that the…

  • Starting preparations for our annual Thanksgiving Magic: The Gathering tournament, which admittedly isn’t until late November. However, there is a bit of preparation I need to do, not the least of which is prepare, build, and paint the trophy for this year. I expect I will use the same model, obviously updating the year, but it was a lengthy process last year. For the format, I am considering mixing it up a little bit, and potentially going with a sealed-deck format. This would require an entrance fee (I would be hard pressed to purchase that many starter decks), but would…

  • Had a scheduling challenge this last weekend, so we ended up not playing our Kingmaker campaign. Several players were unavailable due to prior plans, and illness struck in our area. I also had an issue with pain in my feet, which made it very difficult to walk. As a result, we delayed game 2 of the campaign until March 30. In the meantime, we are going to try to fill in this next weekend with a potential return to Zombicide, and try to finish off another mission. We are just about to complete all of the core game missions, which…

  • Started thru the numerous characters, and prepared PDF copies of each of the sheets. On the chance that there is interest in the current configuration of the team (and its very large size), here are the choices as decided by each player. Each is created in and being tracked thru Hero Lab, though I am likely going to turn over equipment management to each respective player.

  • Not much of an update at this time, I have been spending time working on supplements to support our particularly large Pathfinder campaign. Although we crafted characters last week, the biggest challenge was purchasing equipment and gear – there simply was not enough books and resources available. To that end, I have compiled a listing for available Armor, Weapons, and other Miscellaneous gear so that each player can review as time permits. I would really rather they track their own materials – it is time consuming enough for me to track the details of all of their characters. I am…

  • Both boys, busy with the Scouts, are headed to camp this weekend, giving me a rare “free” weekend with the wife. Not sure what we will be doing yet, its such an unusual occurrence. Most likely will just enjoy the quiet, though we are already making plans for after they return – considering trying to see Captain Marvel on Sunday.
