As part of the holidays this year, I am upgrading my 3d printer to a new Prusa I3 MK3S, which is expected to arrive some time today. I opted for the kit version, which will give me a project to work on while I am off of work for a bit. Going to try out a different format for our video sessions for the gaming – the level of engagement on each one is almost non-existent. Honestly, I didn’t expect anything else – it is a long dry session of watching other people play a game. But after some prompting, it was suggested that one issue is the length of each video. Perhaps if I break the 2 hours into multiple 15-20 videos, it will be slightly more appealing. Not sure I expect any drastic difference, but it is easy enough to separate into multiple parts. Trying a new strategy this year, since the kids are old enough to start taking responsibility for presents. For each of them, I gave them a task of making a list of presents they wanted to find for other people – parents, relatives, each other, etc. For both, I gave them a basic price range, so they hopefully don’t go to extreme. Yesterday, I went out with my oldest, and today I am going out with the younger one, to try to obtain whatever it is on their lists. I haven’t seen either list at the time I am writing…

Seems at this point, at least for the holidays, I am abandoning the plans to mold chocolate dice. Although I still have my template ready, once I found that the silicon had expired, I simply have not found an economical replacement option. Most suppliers are fairly expensive, especially for the volume I will need for the large mold. This would be in comparison to an Etsy or similar product, which honestly would likely be a bit more professional than something I can create. Latest episode is now available for our Age of Ashes campaign. This one is a bit truncated, partially due to scheduling conflicts due to the holiday, and partially due to character leveling. However, for the game time we did get in, the group was notably more efficient and fast moving. Home again, after another week of travel, and ready for the next couple of weeks and the holidays. Finalizing the shopping this weekend and next, in between our gaming schedule. This Sunday we have our next episode of the Age of Ashes, which should give me plenty to work on. Over the actual break, I am hoping to catch the new Star Wars movie, and hopefully play some of these wargames that have been lingering for a long time. Perhaps some X-Wing, Armada, Legion, or at least some Red Dragon Inn. Either way, my plan is to forget about work…

In the midst of another business trip, this time rather heavily occupied with work (compared the typical slow schedule), so minimal time for updates and news. In concept, this trip will lead to extended our current account contract, which in terms translates into job security for the next many years, but still a bit early for that comfort level. In the meantime, freezing with the current cold wave, and getting ready for the holidays. Going to enjoy some time up coming up soon with the family, and hopefully will have enough free time to get some additional gaming in.
