Managed to return home today, safe and sound, from our mini-vacation to Columbus Ohio and the zoo and waterpark. Kids had a grand time, and certainly slept well last night (and will tonight). Weather was very nice, not too warm, but nothing but sunshine – though the return trip turned into thunderstorms and rain showers. The dog was very happy to be picked up and be able to go home, though I am sure she had a lot of fun at summer camp as well. The most interested event though was the unexpected Convention we happened on when we checked…

Enjoying the last few days of my vacation with the family, visiting the Columbus Zoo and Waterpark. Sun, fun, and family, without caring about work or other commitments. Will be home tomorrow, when I resume my Shadowrun campaign prep.

Starting our Shadowrun campaign this weekend, now that we have sorted out the basic training. Schedule is for the game to start at 2 PM EST on Sunday, and we will play likely until about 7 PM. This will continue to be thru the Roll20 virtual tabletop, and I continue to plan to broadcast the sessions. For this first session, the focus will be on introducing the characters, and starting with a simple and straightforward intro mission. From there, we move into the larger campaign, for which I have most of the first 2 full adventures programmed and ready to…

Our latest session of Pathfinder found the group facing off with the old traditional staple of fighting themselves with mirror doppelgangers. Having wrapped up the Iron Cages of Lust, they opted to stay focused on the mission, and after a rest to recover and heal, they moved on to the Shimmering Veils of Pride. As they moved down the entrance hallway, the walls became progressively more mirrored, until the walls, floor, and ceiling was one reflective surface. As the group rounded a corner, they encountered a pair of identical parties (to their left and right), which emerged from the mirrors…

As I posted previously, I spent the last week at summer camp with my older son, George, at Boy Scout summer camp. Not being overly physical myself, this tends to take a lot out of me, especially with the hot days. Most of the week averaged in the 90s, with high humidity, although late in the week it cooled off nicely and was very comfortable. The late nights, early mornings, and constant hiking however wears you out either way. By the end of the week, George had advanced nicely, he is now only one remaining requirement away from Life Scout,…

Continuing our Pathfinder campaign this weekend, and hopefully making some progress after wrapping up the Runeforge Halls of Lust section. The group has to at least tackle the Halls of Pride section, to obtain the mystical items they need, plus they need to figure out how to combine the pieces into the magical items they eventually need to face Karzoug. Plus, at some point, they will need to sort out how to get out of Runeforge, and return to their plane of existence. In theory, we might be done with this chapter during this session, but more likely it will…

Enjoying some time away from work and the computer this week, at Boy Scout Summer Camp with my son. As a result, my posts this week will be relevant, but not necessarily timely, since I scheduled them last weekend. At this point, I am likely tired, dirty, and sore, but having a lot of fun with my son doing Merit Badges and other activities. My wife has sent a large supply of cookies, intended to be a week’s supply for the crew of 30 scouts and parents, but those may be gone at this point. I have also brought along…

Victor Ivanov was recruited into the Soviet military services at an early age, and trained to fight and kill in service of the corporations. Eventually, beaten, broken, and a bit unbalanced, he was discarded as “waste”, sent on a desperate mission which resulted in the death of his companions. As the only survivor, thanks to a faulty cranial bomb, he is on the run now from the old corporation, due to the information and background that he has. Victor uses the street name of “Angel”, and serves the downtrodden and forgotten of Seattle as a street doc and medic. His…
