A dead fan

My earlier post regarding the all-metal hotend was a bit premature.  In truth, the metal hotend and parts are working great.  In some ways, perhaps a bit too great.  As a result, I have been getting what I have concluded to be a lot of heat-creep into the extruder motor itself.  I have tried a variety of options to correct this, but eventually began to notice that the extruder cooling fan itself was simply not turning very much.  As such, it of course could not move away the necessary heat, in turn leading to the filament jams.  Then, as I cleared the jam for the 4th or 5th time, the fan locked up and entirely failed. 🙁

My only solution at that point is of course a replacement fan, which fortunately are relatively inexpensive.  I have a replacement on order, which should hopefully arrive this week, but that means that my various printing projects are otherwise on hold.  Hopefully by this evening, I can install the new part, verify everything is working, and have a successful and functional printer again.  Or perhaps I will discover some other source of challenge.
