• Making the move to remodel my workspace quite a bit, and hopefully gain a much cleaner area. Of course, step one is a massive purge of all the various collections I have gathered over the years. Going thru all the pieces, I have been discovering that there has been a lot of waste – projects started and items purchased that ended up going no where and being abandoned or forgotten. This also gives me a good chance to shred and eliminate old financial paperwork that I have been hording, which is causing my shredder a bit of difficulty – it…

  • Ongoing evolution of my efforts. I spent some more time at our gaming location last night, attempting to recreate and then resolve the audio hum I was getting during the last session. At the time, it was very concerning – I had to reduce the gain in all cases to almost silent to eliminate it. Of course, since I forgot to record the session, I am not sure if it was just in the monitoring headphones, or in the actual audio. I worked to recreate the situation last night, complete with all the microphones, cables, and connections. And despite my…

  • So, apparently this whole video production thing is difficult – to the level that it is hard to remember all the bits and pieces in a rapidly moving and evolving configuration. Case in point – in order to have decent audio, it is important to actually start the recorder… As noted before, I spent the time and effort to upgrade the audio environment for our game, and conducted several tests over the last week. Everything was spot on, and I am beyond pleased with the Zoom H6 recorder. During our game, I had some unexpected challenges (the lavalier mic would…

  • Publishing the 5th episode of Chapter 1 of our Age of Ashes campaign. This one is a bit short this week, thanks to an untimely work related call that disrupted the game mid stream. The group returns to Citadel Altaerein, and begins the exploration of the lower vaults, to attempt the removal of the Cinderclaw Cultists. https://youtu.be/kgrKLDGA4iw

  • Finalized the schedule for our upcoming 3rd annual Magic the Gathering tournament, now planned for November 30, from 2 PM to 6 PM. Had a bit of a conflict with a pre-planned Scouting event, so had to switch from our normal Wednesday, but this may work out better. At least this way, travelers may be back from their trips in time to join us.

  • So after more testing, seems the plugin for WordPress to auto-publish to Instagram isn’t functional, at least for me. Perhaps Instagram doesn’t like the connection, or I have some site conflict with the plugin, but after several attempts, I was unable to configure it to work. As such, the two streams will continue to co-exist, but as independent entities. Admittedly, I am still challenged to find a role for Instagram, which doesn’t duplicate the role of WordPress, but I am willing to give it a try. Perhaps with some regular use, I can understand the tool a bit better. Or…

  • Attempting to coordinate an Instagram link from this site, assuming I can get the plugins to function properly. This would provide another avenue to follow and participate, and allow me to start utilizing the alternate site. Still not sure how exactly it will play into my current strategies, but Instagram at least helps me share photos a bit easier. However, technical challenges are likely going to make this problematic for the time being. Not sure how long it will take to get everything working. If interested, feel free to follow me on Instagram, at https://www.instagram.com/halfling13_hobbies/

  • Continuing my video evolution, working on some new audio options for this coming Sunday’s regular game. Should be much improved audio, though I expect there will be some additional tweaking necessary to fine tune things. However, given my current travel plans, I am hoping to do some informal testing this week in preparation. At the same time, I am hoping (fingers crossed) that my day job will not interrupt our session this time, and we can get a full game in. Not only was it disappointing this last time, but it was also disruptive for my normal schedule – I…
