• I didn’t end up taking any new pictures, so here is an old picture. Last Friday, I finally got motivated enough to paint up the rest of my True-Tiles collection, to match with the prior pieces. It was a nagging project, one which was front and center with our new campaign and the videos that document it. So I felt it was time to finally get to work and actually paint the rest of the pieces. Fortunately, the process is fairly painless and fast – a quick prime in black, and a heavy dry brush in dark grey. Finish it…

  • With our Age of Ashes campaign, I have been collecting a bit of royalty-free music, to use as background for the videos. On a whim, I decided it might be worthwhile to release as an overall collection, or a soundtrack of the campaign. Notes are included on the start of each track, what the original source is, and what the in-game use for that track is. Of course, some are trimmed to fit the video, and in some cases haven’t been used yet. Will likely add to the content as more music is required, and perhaps release a mp3 collection…

  • If you have not had a chance to watch our ongoing live-play series for the Age of Ashes campaign, here is your opportunity to get caught up. Episode 4 will be published next week, so you still have time to watch the first 3 episodes. So far, I am rather proud of the overall effort – the group is really involved in the game, and although the production quality is not at professional levels, it is steadily improving. The group is quickly adjusting to the new rules, and our large party is mostly able to stay focused and move forward,…

  • First of a new batch of scatter terrain, 3d printed and primed white, in preparation for a bulk paint session tomorrow. The models are part of the recent Clorehaven Kickstarter, and should work well with our current Age of Ashes exploration of Citadel Altaerein. I also have a pair of large barricades, primed in brown, and will hopefully be painting several set of our magnetic tiles. All to be featured in our upcoming gaming sessions, where you can see the current collection in use.

  • The Age of Ashes campaign marches on, and more of the players have managed to acquire and paint their figures. The latest is Flemderk, the Goblin Monk of the group. Goblin Monks however are an uncommon character combination, and there are limited produced goblin figures, so this one required a bit of hacking and customization on the part of the player. Originally, the plan had been to try a HeroForge option, but the production and shipping was a bit too long. So with a blade and some glue, Flemderk’s custom model was born. Flemderk is a Martial Disciple, and a…

  • With our ongoing Pathfinder campaign, the group has been exploring an old castle ruin. Unfortunately, I am finding I do not have much in the way of scatter terrain to decorate with – tables, chairs, rubble, and similar items. I have some basic pieces, but with a recent collection, I have added several new designs to my library. So far, I have managed to 3d print a set of junk barricades in various sizes, and I am working on a collection of large piles of rubble. The next set would be that missing furniture and other pieces. In general, this…

  • As mentioned before, with this past game of Pathfinder, I rolled out a newly revised mechanic for equipment tracking. Keep in mind, we have a particularly large group of 10 players, many of which are either new, or still adapting to having to track their own gear. In the past, I have updated character sheets each game, but that is impractical both with rapid changes in gear, and in costs of printing.

  • Just released, episode 3 of our Age of Ashes campaign. The group retreats after their first attempt to explore Citadel Altarein, regroups, and tries again. This time they are met with some unexpected resistance, rapidly escalating into a large running fight. https://youtu.be/QKADoN4arns The youtube format continues to evolve a bit, as I adjust from past efforts. Audio on this one was a bit rough – my lavalier mic seems to continue to drift out of synch, and some of the group was unexpectedly quieter on the other mic than expected. Still a work in progress, I have plans to improve…
