Continuing the process of selling and relocating, we passed another major milestone. With the results of the house inspection, we have settled on and agreed with the buyer on the level of repairs and/or compensation required. The final step is now the formal bank appraisal of the house (which is not really an area of concern), to be followed by the final closing of the property transaction. In the meantime, we are still on standby with the builders, pending the scheduling of our first project meeting. At that point, they will lay out the timeline and process, along with confirming…

Following another kickstarter (Fate’s End Dice Towers), I have a growing collection of themed dice towers in 3d printer formats, ready for printing and creation. This was more of a fun collection, rather than a truly useful or practical effort – but with kickstarter, there are lots of inexpensive projects. Each design is a set of towers, with a few modular options, which follow a profession or other theme. Assembled, the create a fun dice tower for in-person gaming. I have printed a couple so far, but my personal favorite is the Ranger tower (I am always partial to archers).…

Thanks to a recent Kickstarter (Hexton Hills), I have a new long term effort – attempting to recreate a version of the Pathfinder world map in 3d relief. Pictured is a set of sample tiles – each are 2 1/4 inch hexes, representing the dominant terrain of the location. With some simple painting and highlighting, the detail starts to shine. The overall kickstarter includes dozens or hundreds of alternate options, in concept enough to fully document the map. Although I was tempted to tackle the entire world map, I instead settled on a smaller section, to cover Varisia specifically. This…

Earlier this year, in an attempt to streamline my 3d printing efforts and avoid frequently changing PLA spools, I was convinced to try a large-spool format. Specifically, I opted for the 5 kg spool of grey PLA from Gizmodorks (gizmodorks.com). This was in comparison to my previous use of 1 kg spools, typically Hatchbox brand. With the smaller spools, the issue I would rather commonly encounter is simply running out of thread due to printing(due to an ongoing sensor issue), and occasionally a “out of stock” situation with the PLA supply. The larger spool would of course hold 5x as…

The process moved fast, with only 2 days on the market we received and accepted an offer for the old house. Officially, we haven’t closed, but it is now “under contract” and pending. We have inspections and then likely final negotiations, but if all goes well, by July 10 the old place will be a memory to us. In the meantime, we of course continue with the care and feeding of the location – cutting the grass, cleaning the pool, and clearing the trash. For the most part however really are really just on standby at this point, waiting for…

As our move settles down, my gaming schedule seems to have settled as well. I am currently involved in three separate campaigns, which does add a lot of effort, and was a bit of a juggling match over the last few weeks. Our ongoing Pathfinder 2 Age of Ashes campaign has resumed, and continues every other Sunday. The group is wrapping up Chapter 2, and will start Chapter 3 shortly. This was the focus of my video efforts, but with the start of the move and other impacts due to Covid, I have suspended that work. I may or may…

I haven’t posted in a while, but there have been numerous changes. Most importantly, we managed to clear out the old house, pack everything away, and complete necessary repairs and projects. The house is now on the market, and with the current home sales environment, rather active. On the destination, we have finalized our options and decisions, and the process is now with the home builder. Our project meeting is either this week or next, then they start the actual digging and building. Goal is still October timeframe for the completion. In between, we are camping out with the inlaws,…

As our housing plans go into high gear, the number of updates will continue to drop temporarily. This is partially due to far too many things going on, as well as basic lack of availability of computers. Over the next few weeks, there will be a lot of changes on our home front, then a quite time until late fall, when we move into the new location. Fingers are crossed to avoid any major delays and by November we will be settled in.
