• With the ongoing pandemic, and apparently some excess free time for a few of our players, we are going to be attempting to expand our current gaming schedule. Currently, we continue the campaign every other week on Sunday – we are going to attempt a mid-schedule Friday game. The current schedule is a 3-4 hour game, in the evening starting this Friday. Not sure how this will end up impacting the video release schedule – though the audience is small enough that it wont really impact much. I expect I will likely try to edit it into a single long…

  • Enjoying a week off of work, to get some projects done around the house and spend time with the family. So far, most of the work has been in the backyard, cleaning up the weeds and bushes that have grown out of control, and re-applying mulch to large areas. Most of the work is unfortunately delayed or problematic though given local restrictions both on going to stores, as well as store imposed restrictions on hours and shopper counts. And of course the weather is interfering with rain and mud, though fortunately there have been more than a few nice days.…

  • Episode 3 of the 2nd Chapter (Cult of Cinders) of our Age of Ashes campaign is being released now on YouTube. If you are a supporter on Patreon, you can view the content up to two weeks early. Otherwise, the content will be released in pieces over the next couple of weeks. If you are not a supporter, but find some entertainment in my content, please consider a subscription. • Well before this Covid-19 pandemic, this weekend was scheduled to be a bit of a break from work. The wife and older son were going to be in Florida at Disney, and my younger son had our own plans. I had planned for next week to be a vacation from work, to get several projects around the house completed and just have some downtime. Then the pandemic struck, and all plans went out the window. Now, everyone is sticking around (which is good too), but I still have my original plans. Starting Friday, I no longer will be paying attention…

  • Working hard to complete the last session’s video editing, now that (hopefully) work is starting to quiet down. Stayed up late last night to complete the first pass, working on the second pass today for graphics and audio, then rending tonight. Some quick art work for the thumbnails, and should be able to start publishing on schedule this week. Notably, the session is turned out rather short this time. In our 5 session, I trimmed it down to only about 1 hour of content. normally we are closer to 2 hours or more. I attribute that mainly to explanations, tutorials,…

  • Times have been rather crazy the last few weeks, between a world-wide pandemic, kids at home 24/7, and a new contract negotiation at work. Fortunately, I have still managed to squeeze some gaming in, but my website content has been suffering. More of an impact is my video editing – it is rather time consuming – which is time I simply have not had recently. My latest Age of Ashes session is as a result behind schedule, and I am at risk of falling behind and/or having to drop the latest record. Fingers crossed I can get caught up tonight…

  • Trying to stay entertained, and expanding my movie night theme into a marathon this weekend with the Aliens franchise. Also, switching away from Discord streaming and into an unlisted YouTube stream instead. I don’t believe many people both have Discord and really use it to watch a stream (at least from my minimal experience), and YouTube is much more available on multiple platforms. This also gives me a bit finer control over the stream, and hopefully will allow for better participation. Saturday, 3/28 (start times approximate) 8 AM – Monsters vs Aliens 9:35 AM – Alien 11:30 AM – Aliens…

  • With our latest session of Age of Ashes, we adjusted to our Covid-19 process – meaning we suspended the face to face session, in favor of an online format using Fantasy Grounds Unity and Discord. Despite the large group of 10 players, the tools worked rather well – we were successful in holding a regular game. Admittedly, there were some issues, but most were a simple matter of learning the new applications, or some basic technical challenges (had some audio echo). Going forward, it is not the preferred method, but it will work for the time being until the pandemic…
