Gencon 2026 is rapidly approaching (July 30 to August 2), and Halfling13 and the Huber Tabletop Group (at least in part) will be there. Myself, along with 6 of our regulars will be attendance (as just regular attendees, we are special enough for anything bigger). My current plan is to play a variety of games that we have been curious about, and a few that we know, but perhaps have creatively re-interpreted. On our wishlist (in no particular order) is Daggerheart, Mothership, Alien RPG, Rolemaster, Middle-Earth Roleplaying, Call of Cthulhu, and Pirate Borg. And of course I will be wandering the vendor hall looking for inspiration, game aids, and new materials, and to see what the upcoming new releases might be. I also plan to spend some time in the wargaming section – I am not planning on competing in Legion – but I am always eager to see the high-quality painted armies.
In the evenings back at the hotel (we managed to get rooms at the convention), we will likely be trying some small scale one-shots of Mothership, Pirate Borg or similar (especially once I find a game to play in myself), and just sharing all the sites and discoveries we found during the day.
If you follow our content in any form, stop and say hi, I am certainly open to engaging with anyone to talk about the channels. I would ask not to interrupt a paid event (that would be rude), but any other time is fair game. I believe I will be over at the Stadium most of Friday, but around the main convention areas Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
We will be in attendance from Wednesday night and leaving on Monday (most likely), so we will be taking in the full experience.
I will likely also have a small amount of Halfling13 swag as well, though not sure yet what or how much.
