Star Wars Legion – Tours of Duty

With the release of the new Tours of Duty mechanics for Star Wars Legion, there has been a bit of renewed interest in the game. Several of our players who have not played in quite a while have expressed a desire to try it again, and are actively rebuilding or relocating their models, or just getting back up to speed on the mechanics.

Hopefully this signals a renewed stream of content, since the campaign style certainly requires plenty of games. I noticed in the mechanics that there is also a subrule that states that if you concede, you can’t claim any benefits from the battle. This should help push the games to last the full 5 turns as well, something that thus far has not been happening.

On Sunday, I have a recording session set up with enough time to play two games, if I can drum up enough interest and players. For my part, I will be going with an Empire register, it has always been my favorite anyway, and I believe they are considered one of the weakest right now, so I have that added challenge.

I am not exactly sure how this will change the recording or video format, but the battle reports themself will be mostly the same. I just need to blend our Mordheim format for post-action results to fit into the content.

I also expect that this might inspire a new series of tools and accessories, so stay tuned if any of those start to be developed.
