Star Wars: Legion

With our RPG gaming schedule disrupted this week, we ended up with no Extinction Curse and no Enemy Within progress. Still wanting a game, my son and I ended up doing a game of Legion instead, both trying out armies that we were not familiar with. In my case, I had a desire to play Empire, while George opted for the CIS Separatists. Army lists were a bit spur of the moment, so only minimal thought was put into them, which made the battle challenging at least.

Battle parameters ended up with Intercept the Transmissions, on a Long March field, with Fortified Positions. This ended up favoring the Empire quite a bit, though with minimal guns I was most concerned with the droid swarm simply overwhelming me. A poorly timed positioning ended up with Vader against both Dooku and Maul, which was the pivotal moment in the battle. And the Sith Probe droids on the CIS side ended up distinguishing themselves by contributing the most to the overall droid effort.

Although we did not stream live (that would have been much more complicated), I did manage to film the game to an acceptable level. Audio was surprisingly good for us – I ended up using the camera recording instead of my normal audio, since it was much stronger and clearer. I do have some tweaks for future games, but this worked well for our first attempt. A bit of editing later, and the full video should now be posted on YouTube as part of the ongoing collections.
