After reviewing our upcoming calendar, our group decided that we actually could attend more of Gencon this year than originally expected. My son and others are involved in Marching Band for the first time this year, and we fully expected that they would then be tied up thru Friday night of the convention. However, apparently the first year students don’t actually have much going on until the start of school.
As a result, we are now trying to scramble and find rooms for the extra days – we previously signed up for the full 4 day badges, but had only made hotel reservations for Saturday and Sunday. Based on individual schedules, it will likely be everyone on their own for the first few days, but then we can get together as a group on Saturday night to compare experiences.
For myself and the son, we will likely find a place hopefully not too far for Wednesday thru Saturday, and then move hotels for Saturday night. That will allow for us to have as much of the experience as we can handle.
Now we just need to parse thru the thousands of events, to see what we are interested in signing up for.
