• Decided it was time for a renovation of the site, and a new coat of paint on the graphics. I have dropped the old theme (Verbosa), and swapped over to a newer theme (Mantra). Obviously, things have moved, but this has also allowed me to streamline a bit. No doubt it will settle down in a day or two, but until then please excuse any broken links or missing information. As always, I welcome constructive feedback and comments, let me know what you like or don’t like and I will see what I can do.

  • Since I have been sharing long term plans this week, the next on the list is our next major RPG campaign. In a couple of months (possibly earlier), at least one of our Pathfinder campaigns will be coming to an end (Extinction Curse), and I expect the Carrion Crown campaign to conclude by the end of the summer. As such, this leaves a gap in our schedule, and several of the players have been asking about the next storyline. In particular, the request has been for a more mature game – not necessarily adult in content, but more focused with…

  • Ages ago, our gaming group became addicted to the tabletop strategy game Mordheim, as published by Games Workshop around 1999. Although official support was short-lived, the game has lived on in fan-supported formats. Recently, there has been discussions and rumors about playing the game again, in a competitive tabletop format, as part of our strategy content. Although my Skaven warband (and their ace Slinger crew) has long since retired, this idea piqued my interest, and I have been working with a few of the players to pull together armies and warbands, along with locate the old ruined-city terrain pieces. If…

  • I just published our 40th episode yesterday, which will go live on May 12. This 800 pt battle report is a return to traditional Star Wars, with the Empire fighting the Rebellion. Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, and K-2SO face off against Darth Vader and the Dark Troopers. The battle was a nail-biter, the momentum switching back and forth during each of the turns. Several times, both sides considered the battle a lost cause, but it wasn’t until Turn 6 when the winner was actually confirmed. Both players left happy with the results – it wasn’t a case of bad dice…

  • Over the last week or two, I spent some time restructuring my YouTube channels, mainly consolidating them due to content. I had previously broken out each RPG system into its own channel – that was a bit overly idealistic. As we change to different games, I keep having to add additional channels, which isn’t practical. Instead, I am now organized by type of game – Tabletop strategy vs Roleplaying games – and I am only managing two channels. Legion content of course makes up the bulk of the Tabletop section, and is still doing strong, while all the various RPG…

  • As is likely evident in the recent posting frequency, my focus has shifted somewhat to alternative platforms. Mainly YouTube community is where I have been posting most of my updates, and it feels redundant to double-post to a website at the same time. I need a consolidation tool, that would allow for cross posting to all the platforms at the same time, to really be reliable. However, the YouTube piece is really focused mainly on the Star Wars content (and mainly Legion), so I am also doing a disservice to my other content. This would include the RPG campaigns (Pathfinder…

  • Its been a while since I posted here, mainly due to the numerous channels I have been using recently. The YouTube content is steadily growing, which is very encouraging, and I have been posting most of my updates there in the YouTube Community sections (YouTube Community). Since the video content has been my focus recently, it is naturally my focus for updates. I have also been posting many of our recent painting efforts to Instagram (Instagram), more as an achive of the collection rather than any community building. If you are a fan of the medium, consider visiting to see…

  • Got a bit of inspiration, and opted to dive into more painting this weekend, completing a unit of Shoretroopers (minus the mortar). This is a unit that has been sitting for a while, but with a recent request for an Imperial Remnant army, I felt it was time to knock them out. I was rather intimidated by the patterns, but it actually turned out to be rather easy. I started with a usual Wraith Bone primer on all units. From there, I applied Wyldwood (Contrast) to the pants and shoes, and Black Templar (Contrast) to the skirts, internal armor padding,…
