Perhaps it is the release day, or perhaps it is the new content (Bad Batch and the new ruleset), but our latest battle report is doing very well on the analytics. We have smashed thru our prior records of views, comments, and new subscribers for the first 24 hours. I believe we have also already surpassed the total number of likes for a video, for any lifetime, in only the first 24 hours, so the format must be doing something right. I do suspect it is newer content rather than timing, but I like to see the activity regardless. YouTube…

In our ongoing Warhammer FRP campaign, we have a mythical Bogtopus known as Larry Leggs (called that by the locals), which exists in the Schadensumpf swamp west of Middenheim. This creature has existed for a very long time, preying on creatures and beasts of the swamp, and occasionally roaming out for other sources of food. The locals, aware of its danger, keep the creature “fed” by leaving criminals for the beast at the eastern edge of the swamp. As a result of its age, and various unnatural influences, Larry has grown and advanced to enormous size, and nearly impossible abilities,…

The big news yesterday was the release of the new ruleset for Star Wars Legion, and with it a fairly significant change in the mechanics and process. In particular, it invalidated our current game tracking dashboard, due to the new cards. Not to fear though, it inspired me to dive in and make it new again. I present the updated, v2.6 compatible, Legion Dashboard. Cut from multiple layers of 5mm plywood using a laser, the board assembles easily and is inspired by the official graphics provided in the rules update. Card slots are sized for sleeved cards (since they are…

A surprisingly strong view count of our most recent Kingmaker session, with the start of the Wilds showing very strong viewership as of this morning. Perhaps the algorithm finally hit the mark, but I suspect it is mainly the “Kingmaker” name and association with Pathfinder. Regardless, welcome to all the new visitors, and my appreciation to the new subscribers. I did post a short listing of our house rules that are in effect for Pathfinder 2e, we really do make an effort to follow the rules as written, but I am one to tinker and always seem to change something.…

Our latest battle report is live, with a traditional battle of Separatists vs Republic. Craig’s droids take on the clones of Carter in a Bombing Run mission, on the fictional planet of Hylara. This is one of our last reports using the now outdated rules (new Legion rules went into effect today), so we will be adapting and relearning the game as quickly as we can. Trying to keep up with the production schedule (a one-person operation can be challenging), but episode 89 (Separatists vs Empire) should be available next week on time. After that, we will be attending Gencon…

If you have been following our long-term Warhammer FRP campaign, the Enemy Within, then you will know that quite a while ago we converted the combat system over to Rolemaster mechanics, in attempt to add more detail, granularity and grittiness to the game. We have now made the decision to reverse that direction and have adopted a far more Warhammer-core ruleset. Rolemaster itself lends very well to the base Warhammer mechanics – both use percentile dice, so conversion was straightforward. The biggest question was how to adapt Wounds to Hit Points (we simply added a x5 multiplier), and how various…

We posted the second of three battle reports focused on training Andy, our Rebel player, last week Friday. This battle was against Craig, another of our less experienced players, playing the Separatist droids. Unfortunately, due to extremely slow game play, the recording session ran long and we had to call the game early rather than completing all rounds. Legion Battle Report 086 Trying to avoid spoilers, I will say there was a notable improvement in the Rebels, playing the battle list for a second time. Several tactics and mechanics were improved, which gave the droids a challenge. This week, we…

As I mentioned in my recent Viewport, I have been working on a revision for the intro credits to our Warhammer FRP storyline. The one we were using were very basic, since they were created years ago at this point. To me, they were very dated and basic, I have learned a lot about Davinci Resolve and how to animate and edit the material, so I wanted to refresh them a bit. The new format is in line with our Kingmaker and Traveller storylines, and much more professional at least in my mind. The main story content is unchanged, this…
