Extending my ongoing Horror theme, I was doing some model searches recently, and came upon a newly posted Patreon filled with the Cthulhu mythos. Of course, everyone needs a model of the great Cthulhu itself, so I quickly subscribed and collected the models.

Now that I have finished the tiles for my Catan board, I am temporarily sidelining the tiles to print this model, in as large of a size as the resin printer can handle (approximately 125% scale). As a multi-part model, once assembled, I am expecting about 175mm in height, or just under 7 inches. Which as a model itself, not too impressive. But as a “miniature scale” figure, hopefully very impressive.

Most of the pieces will be hollow, he is a rather chunky model otherwise, and some of the parts are rather delicate. Not sure if I will end up painting or not – what color is an Elder God? But may put some basic highlights on eventually.

No idea if he will be used in any of my current or future campaigns, I really do not have a current need for a world-ending threat. But he will be available on standy-by if needed. And the collection includes a number of other alternatives that would work very well for some storylines.

The model and the collection is part of the monthly Patreon release from Clay Cyanide Miniatures, referred to me by a cross-promotion from some of my other subscriptions. It was a happy surprise, that worked out well on the timing. Not sure if I will continue into future sets or not, I do like the design style, just not sure how many other themes I actually need though.
