Live streaming

With our new campaign, we will be trying a new format on the gaming video archives, and attempting to live stream the various games. This has some advantages – not only is the content available immediately, but we can also conceivable interact with any audience. In addition, a major benefit is that I don’t need to spend multiple days editing down the content – what we play is what is seen.

This does bring its own challenges however, I have had to figure out how to create a combination view of the various cameras, and need to operate the entire operation as a single person production crew – all while also running and managing the actual game. “Professional” level operations tend to have several people in dedicated roles for what I am trying to do solo.

In preparation, I have been creating and designing both graphics and layouts for OBS, to use in Twitch and/or YouTube Live (undecided on the platform). This layout, combined with a simple StreamDeck will allow me to switch and swap between options, and potentially add semi-dynamic content as needed. From some basic research online for similar groups and efforts, I am hoping this will be a cleaner and easier to engage format.

If you are interested, please stay tuned, and I invite you to join us for our ongoing sessions.
