Large scale project

Thanks to a recent Kickstarter (Hexton Hills), I have a new long term effort – attempting to recreate a version of the Pathfinder world map in 3d relief. Pictured is a set of sample tiles – each are 2 1/4 inch hexes, representing the dominant terrain of the location. With some simple painting and highlighting, the detail starts to shine. The overall kickstarter includes dozens or hundreds of alternate options, in concept enough to fully document the map.

Although I was tempted to tackle the entire world map, I instead settled on a smaller section, to cover Varisia specifically. This makes the overall build much more reasonable – it will still end up at approximately 4 feet in size.

No doubt, the tiles will take a lengthy amount of time to print, paint and assemble, but I have created a scale version of the map in order to organize the effort like a large jigsaw puzzle. Updates to be posted as the project continues.
