Comments

On the website, I am trying to encourage more comments and discussion, so for at least a time, I am going to disable the requirement to list an email address and name. Comments still have to be approved (to avoid spammers), and the auto-blocking tools are still in place (again, for spamming), but perhaps this will encourage the occasional visitor to leave a comment or two.

In general, I get a vast number of comments, but practically every one is automatic spam entries. Current metrics are showing 204,000 spam comments (all blocked), and 9 “real” comments through out the website.

Certainly the blocking tools are working well, but I would like this environment to be more open for discussion. You can also comment either on the Facebook group, or on one of the YouTube videos, or thru Twitter if that is your preferred method.

If this change results in a larger count of spam entries making it thru the filters, then I will of course re-restrict the pages again.
