With our Zombicide game, I have jumped back into video documentation, with a bit of experimenting in preparation for our future Pathfinder game. Utilizing my bare bones gear (a camcorder, cell phone, and audio recorder), I managed to actually record some decent footage and a couple of angles. Audio ended up better than I expected, and I can actually hear all the players.

Of course the additional camera adds complexity with the editing, so I had to dive into learning about Premiere Pro’s multi-cam editing options. It was not that intuitive (or I am a slow learner), but I think I have the process down now. Import all the footage and audio, create a multi-cam sequence. Then adjust color, and edit as individual timelines to remove excess audio and footage (trimming the total length). From there, I can go back into multi-cam mode, and easily swap back and forth between angles as the session plays out. Overall, a bit easier than I expected, once I got going.

So much so that I am now on the lookout for additional camera options for our next game. 2 cameras are decent, 3 or even 4 would be even better. The challenge of course is finding the cameras, setting them up to record on a stable platform, and have enough power and storage to last for our 5 hour sessions.

As for the Zombicide game session, I am finalizing the footage at this time, I hope to have it posted to YouTube possibly tonight.
