Privacy

On Friday, the site software notified me of an upgrade to WordPress, moving to 4.9.6, which as usual I installed.  As expected, the install was quick and painless, rarely ever any issues.  However, with the new update, there is now a new focus on Privacy Policies, no doubt a result of all of the recent events in the news regarding privacy and information gathering.

Although this site is entirely informational, and relatively low volume, I do collect some data for the basic operation of the site, and to screen spam and similar activity.  As such (and being in a computer support role, and understanding the concerns of data privacy), I felt it prudent to implement a true Policy with this update.  Admittedly it is a bit of a boiler-plate template, but it should cover the majority of cases.  I am not a lawyer, so I can’t speak with complete confidence, but I think I caught all the miscellaneous edits for the template I used.

If you wish to review the overall details, reference the Privacy Policy link in the menu, or a direct link here.

This is based of off a template available at WPBeginner.
