Painting Aid

Spent some time working with the 3d Printer, and building some tools for hopefully helping with the miniature painting.  In this case, it is a handle system, which should make it easier to hold unpainted figures, maneuver them around for better angles, and still be easy to swap out for bulk painting of several figures.  In the pictures (which show a pre-painted Valeros) you can see the handle, to which a magnet is attached underneath.  The disks each have a magnet as well, which allows them to be attached to the handle quickly and securely.  The figure is then attached to the disk with wire, glue, or most easily rubber bands.  Then as I am painting, I can swap out each figure as needed, without having to scuff and mess with the wet paint on the figure.

May end up being more trouble than its worth – I have it built but have been unable to actually use it yet – but it was an intriguing idea and one that I think has a lot of potential.  Planning on painting more zombies, and a dragon piece for George’s Pathfinder Sorcerer (he wants to use Form of the Dragon spells) which should give us the opportunity to see how well it works.
