New video content today as we release the start of our next chapter and one-shot for the Two-Headed Serpent campaign. Due to some emergency scheduling issues, we only managed about half of the session with a late start, so the second half will be forthcoming as soon as we can schedule it.
For this chapter, the group of investigators are sent to sinister rural Oklahoma, to investigate possibilities of a Cult of Yig. But first some new mysteries begin while they are debriefed in New York, and the ancient mummy that they recovered way back in Bolivia in Chapter 1 wakes up and causes some chaos.
A very notable change for this session, and future sessions – we have altered the time frame the story is being told in to be modern day, instead of the 1930’s. Functionally, our players (and myself) were having difficulties relating to the 1930’s, given that it is now nearly 100 years in the past. Hollywood and books have given us each a perspective, but it is too far removed to for us to be consistent – and the group was struggling somewhat with “reasonable” in the setting. By moving it to the modern day, everyone can relate well with the possibilities and situations.
Of note, this is a fictional parallel universe Modern Day, not “real world”. I am specifically removing any of the common political and social discussions, and many of the tin-foil conspiracy theories. None of that controversial material has a place in our fictional story, which will remain focused on the plot lines of the original Two-Headed Serpent storyline. We just adjust the window dressing to that of the modern world.
