Bit late in posting, but on Friday, our latest session of the Enemy Within campaign was posted for our long-running Warhammer FRP RPG group. Our group is at an ancient holy ground, attempting to re-charge Ghal Maraz, when they attracted the attention of the Beastman Horde. In our prior session, they prepared defenses and worked to clear the tunnel to the old shrine, but as the day dawned, the enemy began their attack.
This session is most of the epic battle between the forces of chaos and the player heroes, as they defend themselves, and fight to survive. Much of the fighting was dire – there were many casualties on both sides, but by the end of the session the fighting had not been decided.
This session gave plenty of players a chance to shine, and I was quite happy with the resistance of the players to meta-game out of character knowledge – everyone stayed focused on their knowledge and their particular tasks, making the fight brutal and tense.
Our next session this week will wrap up the battle, for good or for bad, as we rapidly approach the conclusion of the campaign.
