After a lengthy break, we return to continue the Kingmaker campaign. Our group is still investigating the Vanishing of Varnhold, with the various clues having come up dry. Instead, they have been systematically searching the Varnhold region looking for further clues or options as to what might have befallen the villagers. In some cases, they engaged and resolved the local situation, in others they avoided the location to prevent bigger conflicts. Ultimately though they have started to reach a point of desperation – the villagers disappeared several weeks ago without a trace, and the group seems to have no sense of how to proceed.
Some of our challenge in this game came down to the lengthy 6 week break that our schedule caused, which has broken the momentum. It is challenging to get back into an investigative mystery with that long of a break. However, by the end of the session, the group is back on track, with at least a solid goal they are heading towards.
This video also features more of my reformating of the video sessions – the main content is unchanged, but I am starting to put a more personal intro to each session. My intent is to cover the summary of the prior session, and perhaps talk about some of the struggles experienced in the game – both from a player and a GM perspective.
