It has been several years since I attempted live-streaming our games to Twitch, but after a bit of experimentation recently, that has been revived. Of course, the audience is tiny. But our advances in our setup over the last many months and my slow experiences with the formats have made this an option again.
Currently, I am set to live-stream our live play RPG games only, Kingmaker every other Sunday at 2 PM EST, and The Enemy Within every Tuesday at 7 PM EST. Perhaps the audience will grow, but if not, its another avenue to advertise for the YouTube archive library. I doubt I will do anything with Legion or wargames – those are a different format and much harder to broadcast without editing.
I did a bit of configuration on the audio ahead of the stream, and had my fingers crossed it would work well – which fortunately it did. Not perfect, but definitely usable. Audio is particularly challenging since it goes thru so many layers, and it is always uncertain how the final composite will turn out. If anything, the gain was a touch high, and the sound was not as full as it could be, but everyone is able to be heard and the sound doesn’t change volume very much.
If you are familiar with such setups, and can offer any advice, I would be eager to learn how to tweak or adjust the settings to make it a bit more balanced.
