Mordheim tabletop battles have begun

At long last, we officially kicked off our Mordheim efforts, revisiting a game that hasn’t seen action in 25 years. Mordheim was published by Games Workshop back near 2000, and very popular with our group, but went out of print after a few years. Recently, there has been a surge of interest, and with the promise of fully painted warbands, the new generation group has been working to start playing again.

On Friday, we managed to get started, with two fully painted forces – George’s Undead warband vs Craig’s Skaven warband. We also played a number of other “official” games, though the video content won’t be used since the figures were not fully painted. Terrain isn’t quite done – most of the building do have a first coat of paint, but are far from finished, and the board surface is very basic. But the primary goal of painted warbands was met.

On Sunday, we played several more games, again with proxies and unpainted figures. Thus far, we are 4 games in, and several warbands are improving rapidly. My own Orc and Goblin band unfortunately is struggling after losing both an orc and a goblin in their first battle.

I have been hard at work editing and creating a video template, to start adding the content to our YouTube channel, and the first battle likely will be ready this week. Mordheim plays quite a bit differently, so the video is much more narrative and short – games tend to be fast and furious.

Join us and follow along as each of the warbands work to improve and establish dominance.
