Got a bit of inspiration, and opted to dive into more painting this weekend, completing a unit of Shoretroopers (minus the mortar). This is a unit that has been sitting for a while, but with a recent request for an Imperial Remnant army, I felt it was time to knock them out.

I was rather intimidated by the patterns, but it actually turned out to be rather easy. I started with a usual Wraith Bone primer on all units. From there, I applied Wyldwood (Contrast) to the pants and shoes, and Black Templar (Contrast) to the skirts, internal armor padding, and weapons, along with a small bit for the helmet eyes and mouth. At that point, a full coverage of Skeleton Bone (Contrast) provided the armor shading, and blended the darker contrasts in very nicely. The captain’s armor was shading with a coating of Briar Queen’s Chill (Contrast) for the blue, and then all members received a stripe of Spaceship Grey (Army Painter) on the shoulder with edging of Flat Black (Army Painter). The other side’s arm guard had a coating of Baal Red (Contrast).

Based as usual used Lava Orange (Army Painter) under a layer of Mordant Earth (Technical)
